The Jets apparently tried to trade Hill, but opted to waive him after a deal could not be reached.
The Jets also released three veterans: Daryl Richardson, A.J. Edds and Johnny Patrick.

Richardson was claimed off waivers earlier in the offseason after he was released by the St. Louis Rams. The release of Patrick is a surprise considering the Jets' thin secondary.
