The New York Giants are going with two quarterbacks after releasing Curtis Painter on Saturday.

Painter's release means Ryan Nassib will back up Eli Manning under center.

The Giants started cut day by releasing veteran defensive end Israel Idonije.

Idonije has 10 years of NFL experience. He spent his first nine seasons with the Chicago Bears before joining the Detroit Lions in 2013. The 33-year-old has 29 career sacks.

The Giants later released tight end Kellen Davis.
