Bills cut Jordan Palmer, Brian Moorman among slew of roster moves

It doesn't look like Jordan Palmer will be the answer to the Buffalo Bills' backup quarterback issues.

Palmer was signed just four days ago but it appears the move may have been made simply so the team could pick his brain.

The pivot came over from the Chicago Bears, who the Bills will face in Week 1.

The Bills weren't done there, dropping a group of nine other players in advance of the league's 53-man roster deadline. The group is headlined by punter Brian Moorman and defensive tackle Landon Cohen.

The others are linebacker Xavius Boyd, tight end Dominique Jones, cornerback Kamaal McIlwain, cornerback Sam Miller, fullback Evan Rodriguez, wide receiver Naaman Roosevelt and offensive lineman Jared Wheeler.

The team also placed three players on the IR, including tight end Tony Moeaki.

Moorman made his NFL debut with the Bills in 2001, rejoining the club in 2013.

Moorman made two Pro Bowls in his first stint with the team, in 2005 and then again in 2006, getting named to the league's All-Pro first team in each of those seasons.
