Steve Smith wins Ravens' office pool after avoiding fights with 49ers
No stranger to practice altercations, Baltimore Ravens receiver Steve Smith was the subject of a wager between his teammates during their joint practices with the San Francisco 49ers.
"I think I won the office pool because they had over-unders on my fights," Smith said, via Aaron Wilson of the Baltimore Sun. "I had zero, so I get all the cash."
Ravens head coach John Harbaugh and his brother, 49ers head coach Jim Harbaugh, both said they expected discipline from their players during the sessions, and their message clearly got through.
"I feel like we got a week-plus worth of work in," John Harbaugh said. "It's not just because of tempo and attention to detail, which is part of it.
"It's the fact that you just see schemes that you're not going to see. You can practice for months out here and you're not going to see the things we see because our team doesn't do those things on both sides of the ball. Very valuable work."
