Report: Cowboys already sent playoff tickets to season ticket holders

Kirby Lee / US PRESSWIRE

Someone in the Dallas Cowboys' front office is very confident about how the team will perform this coming season. A little too confident, probably.

According to ESPN sports business reporter Darren Rovell, the Cowboys have already sent their season ticket holders tickets for the playoffs, including an as-of-now theoretical NFC Championship Game to be played at AT&T Stadium in January.

Per Rovell, the Cowboys are the first team in major U.S. sports history to send out playoff tickets so early. Good for them... maybe? This isn't exactly a Jackie Robinson situation.

So, what will happen to these tickets in the event the Cowboys don't make the playoffs? They'll either become collectors' items, or perhaps they'll be shipped overseas like the "Super Bowl Champions" T-shirts manufactured for the losing team.
