Eagles' LeSean McCoy feels quicker after the elimination of 'Doritos and sauce'

Philadelphia Eagles running back LeSean McCoy credited the elimination of late night gorges on the delicious combination of "Doritos and sauce" for his improved fitness heading into the season.

McCoy, who walked around at about 215 pounds last season, now hovers between 209-211, and feels noticeably quicker as a result.

“At a lighter [weight], I feel like I’m so much more effective,” McCoy told CSNPhilly. “I looked at all my old film and saw how much quicker I was when I was 210 [pounds], 209. It’s a big difference. And I’m feeling like that again. I’ve always made plays. Even last year.”

Though McCoy, even at 209 pounds, is large enough to use his physicality to break tackles, he prefers to remain elusive with the deployment of his athleticism as a complement to his strength.

“I play with leverage,” McCoy said. “Certain guys are different. A guy like Marshawn Lynch, he’s more of a running through a guy. Mine is to get a guy off balance and going through an arm tackle, go through a shoulder, those types of things. Get them going one way and try to hit the other side.”

The 26-year-old rushed for 1,607 yards and nine touchdowns last season, so the promise of a "leaner" and "quicker" McCoy should be terrifying for opposing players.
