Cardinals, Patrick Peterson agree to terms on 5-year extension worth a reported $70 million
The Arizona Cardinals agreed to terms on a five-year extension with Pro Bowl cornerback Patrick Peterson, the team announced Tuesday.
Although the team did not disclose financial details, Peterson was more than happy to let the world know that he was getting enough coin to fill Scrooge McDuck's vault.
Happy to announce my 5 year extension with @AZCardinals! $70M and $48M Guaranteed!! #AZCardinals #P2Nation #YearOfTheCardinal

Peterson was reportedly looking to become the highest-paid corner in the league, and with his self-reported $48 million in guaranteed money being more than Richard Sherman's $40 million, it looks as though he got his wish.
#Cardinals CB Patrick Peterson's $48M "guarantee" is fully guaranteed for injury. Highest guarantee for a corner in the history of the NFL.
