Ex-teammate: Seahawks' Marshawn Lynch 'will be holding out from training camp'

Seattle Seahawks running back Marshawn Lynch will be holding out of training camp, according to his former teammate, Michael Robinson.

"Marshawn Lynch just called me, we just talked," Robinson said on NFL Network. "He said he will be holding out from training camp this year with the Seahawks."

The team is reportedly aware of his plan.

Robinson has spoken on behalf of Lynch in the past, tell reporters last month that Lynch wants to be paid like "the face of this franchise."

Lynch reportedly threatened to hold out of mandatory minicamp in hopes of getting a deal, but ultimately showed up.

After watching Kansas City Chiefs running back Jamaal Charles quickly turn a holdout into a new contract on Wednesday, perhaps Lynch is thinking the same thing.

However, Lynch isn't in the same bargaining position as Charles. He represented the bulk of the Chiefs' attack, while the Seahawks have been grooming Christine Michael behind Lynch. Not to mention the Seahawks have the benefit of one of the greatest defenses ever to fall back on.
