Report: Chiefs, Jamaal Charles agree on 2-year contract extension worth $18.1M
Kansas City Chiefs running back Jamaal Charles may have just executed one of the shortest and most effective holdouts in history.

Charles reportedly made good on his threats not to report to training camp Wednesday and it's not surprising that the Chiefs were quickly willing to work on a deal.
You could make an argument that Charles is just as important to his offense than any other player in the league. The versatile back accumulated nearly 2,000 yards from scrimmage in 2013 and without him the Kansas City attack would be far less dynamic.
According to ESPN's Adam Schefter, Charles' extension is for two years and will keep him with the Chiefs for the next four years. He will also now be the second-highest paid running back in the league.
Per Rapoport, the deal includes $18.1 million of new money.
