Cowboys' Tony Romo: Has not had conversations with team yet

Team owner and general manager Jerry Jones is expected to make the decision on the future of Romo soon, but Jones said he has not yet spoken with the veteran quarterback, Charean William of the Fort Worth Star-Telegram reports.

Analysis:

It was previously reported that the two sides would speak before the NFL Scouting Combine, and that begins Tuesday. Rookie Dak Prescott stepped in for the injured veteran and had a magical season, and while Prescott is expected to start in 2017, it is possible Romo could be kept around as insurance. It would likely take a pay cut to make that happen, however. Vegas even has odds on Romo's 2017 team, and the Cowboys are considered the favorite (along with the Broncos).
