Report: Free agent DT Mitchell to meet with 4 teams next week
Brad Barr / USA TODAY Sports
Recently released defensive tackle Earl Mitchell has been busy searching for a new home.
The Miami Dolphins cut bait with the veteran of seven years on Thursday, but he has visits lined up with the Seattle Seahawks, San Francisco 49ers, Atlanta Falcons, and Denver Broncos next week, NFL Network's Mike Garafolo reports.
Mitchell played in nine games in 2016 and recorded just 18 tackles. He was placed on injured reserve during the year as he battled a calf injury.
The Dolphins signed Mitchell to a four-year, $16-million deal in 2014. He recorded 72 total tackles and two sacks during his time in Miami.
