Fan faked lost tooth story to get free UGGs from Brady

Matthew Emmons / USA TODAY Sports

Do you remember that story in December about a fan who lost a tooth trying to find a pair of Tom Brady's UGG slippers?

It's fine if you don't, because it never happened.

Luke Barosky, a New England Patriots fan with too much time on his hands, admitted to the Boston Globe recently that he used makeup to fake a story that he lost a tooth trying to find a pair of UGGs that Brady had hidden around the city, posting a photo to Facebook.

"In all honesty, I never meant any ill will, and I thought it was pretty obvious it was all a joke," said Barosky. "I didn't think it would gain traction.

"I came back later, and my notifications were off the charts. This whole thing came spiraling out of nowhere. When you see yourself going viral, it's a very surreal feeling."

Barosky eventually got his own pair of signed slippers from Brady, but now that his story has been revealed, he is planning to donate one of the slippers to be auctioned off for charity.
