Packers' Davante Adams not expected to practice until Saturday
Davante Adams will need a few days of rest before he practices in preparation for Sunday's NFC Championship Game.
The Green Bay Packers receiver is expected to sit out until the final team session of the week after suffering an ankle injury in the divisional round against the Dallas Cowboys.
"We'll see," head coach Mike McCarthy said of his third-year receiver Wednesday, according to Rob Demovsky of ESPN. "I'm curious to see him move. I don't think he'll practice until Saturday."
Adams had to be helped off the field late in the fourth quarter of Green Bay's win over the Cowboys. He eventually returned and was able to finish the game, but the ankle clearly remains a concern.
Getting on the field Saturday, even if in a limited capacity, would be an important step for Adams in his recovery.
The 24-year-old being available for a full workload against the Atlanta Falcons, an NFC title matchup that figures to be a shootout from the opening kick, is all the more imperative for a Packers offense that may be without Jordy Nelson for a second consecutive game.
Adams bounced back from a disappointing sophomore campaign to rack up 75 receptions for 997 yards and 12 touchdowns throughout the regular season.
