Kobe wishes Derek Carr well in recovery
Oakland Raiders quarterback Derek Carr has been flooded with get-well wishes since undergoing surgery on his broken fibula, including one from his idol.
After Carr tweeted Tuesday that his surgery was successful, former Los Angeles Lakers great Kobe Bryant sent him this message:

Carr responded a short time later, thanking Bryant:

Carr spoke about Bryant's influence in September following a 35-34 win over the New Orleans Saints.
"In my head, I'm a big Kobe fan," Carr said at the time, according to the Associated Press. "That Mamba mentality. You have to go out there and you have to do it. I've studied him and watched him forever. That's always been my mindset when I get into close situations. They don't always work out, but that's where my mind is at."
