Steelers' Ladarius Green: Declines to provide timetable
Green (ankle) declined to give a timetable when asked about a potential return to practice, the Pittsburgh Tribune-Review reports.
Analysis:
Signed to a four-year, $20 million contract in March, the 25-year-old Green hasn't said much about the ankle surgery he had earlier in the offseason. He did say that he had a tendon repaired and some plates inserted, which makes it sound as if the issue is a bit more serious than previously believed. Green missed the entire offseason program and isn't available for the start of training camp, but assuming he gets healthy before Week 1, he should have a fantastic opportunity to emerge as a leading target in a high-powered Pittsburgh offense that won't have the services of Martavis Bryant this year. With Heath Miller retired, Green shouldn't face too much competition for targets at tight end.
