Tebow still thinks he can play in the NFL

He may not be actively pursuing work in the NFL, but if someone happens to need Tim Tebow, he's ready to answer the call.

Tebow, who hasn't been in the league since 2012, joined CBS Sports Radio's Doug Gottlieb recently and was asked if an NFL team came calling, would he be ready?

"I mean, for me, I'm in the best shape I've ever been in," the former New York Jets and Denver Broncos quarterback said. "I'm still young, I still feel really good. So is that something that I feel like I can be an effective quarterback in the NFL? Yeah, I really do feel like I could be."

The 28-year-old added that football is far from the only thing in his life, referring to his new book and charitable foundation, and seems happy having found a purpose outside the sport.

"I'm extremely busy doing a lot of things I love to do," said Tebow. "Football is just one thing that I love to do. But it can't become your everything because eventually you're not going to be able to play, whether that's today or five years from now. And if it's your everything, when you're done what do you do?"
