Peterson: Vikings' Barr potentially 'the best linebacker to ever play'

Adrian Peterson didn't know who linebacker Anthony Barr was when the Minnesota Vikings drafted him ninth overall in 2014, but he sure does now.

"Being around him now for a couple years, I've seen some amazing things," Peterson told NFL Network recently. "To be so tall, he comes through and he finishes through his tackles. It's like 'Wow', he's still a pup. Once he gets his feet settled, whew, offenses are really going to have a hard time against this guy."

Barr made his first Pro Bowl last year in his second NFL season after making 68 tackles, 3.5 sacks, seven pass deflections, one interception, and three forced fumbles.

Peterson, who's seen plenty great linebackers in his nine seasons, believes the 24-year-old Barr has the potential to be an all-time player at his position.

"He has the potential to be the best linebacker to ever play the game, in my eyes," said Peterson.
