Colin Kaepernick is making a lot of money to watch teammates work this offseason.

The San Francsico 49ers quarterback has yet to be medical cleared for passing after a trio of surgeries keeps him on the injured reserve. However, he's had a perfect practice attendance since voluntary workouts began April 4, and with good reason.

The perfect attendance record will be good enough for Kaepernick to collect a $400,000 workout bonus, despite not being allowed to participate, according to Matt Maiocco of CSNBayArea.com.

While the 28-year-old isn't allowed to throw a football, he's been lining up behind fellow quarterbacks during drills and going through the footwork while he gets "mental reps" in.

Despite being on the shelf since head coach Chip Kelly's arrival, the coach insists the five-year veteran hasn't fallen behind Blaine Gabbert in the starting quarterback competition.

The real quarterback competition is expected to begin in late-July when the 49ers training camp opens and Kaepernick is expected to be at full health.
