Le'Veon Bell expects to be 100 percent by training camp

Pittsburgh Steelers running back Le'Veon Bell did individual drills at OTAs Tuesday, only six months removed from major knee surgery.

Bell tore his MCL and PCL in November, an injury considered by many to be more severe than a torn ACL - and one that put his availability for the start of the 2016 season into question.

Bell isn't just optimistic he'll be back by Week 1, he told reporters he expects to be 100 percent by the start of training camp.

It's typical for players to underestimate the time it will take to return from injury, but Bell is easier to believe than others. It seems like every day he posts video on his Snapchat feed of him working out and looking strong and nimble.

Bell told reporters he believes the Cincinnati Bengals tried to injury him. It was linebacker Vontaze Burfict who delivered the hit that tore his ligaments.

"The whole (Bengals) team was really out there trying to like twist my ankles and do little dirty stuff in between the piles," Bell said before admitting he now understands he must do a better job protecting himself against further injury.

"I just know that when I'm on the sidelines I can't expect somebody to just push me out of bounds ... I have to really protect myself."
