Maccagnan: Jets tried to trade up to snag Tunsil
Laremy Tunsil almost had a different home in the AFC East.
The former Ole Miss standout took a draft-day tumble caused by a leaked bong-hit video, and was eventually selected with the 13th overall pick by the Miami Dolphins.
However, New York Jets general manager Mike Maccagnan admitted Tuesday in an interview with WFAN's Mike Francesa that his team attempted to trade up for Tunsil after he began to slide.
Did Jets try to move up for "the tackle" or "the Ole Miss tackle," as Mike Francesa refers to Laremy Tunsil? Yes, says Mike Maccagnan.

The Jets lost their left tackle of close to a decade when D'Brickashsaw Ferugson retired this offseason. They replaced him with the talented but injury-prone Ryan Clady, leading them to eye Tunsil - considered the best offensive tackle prospect in several seasons - as a long-term option.
