Titans' Derrick Henry: Expected to play second fiddle to Murray

Titans head coach Mike Mularkey told Henry's teammate, DeMarco Murray, that he's still expected to handle most of the workload in the backfield, the team's official website reports.

Analysis:

Henry was the second running back selected in the 2016 NFL Draft, coming off the board at No. 45 overall to a Tennessee team that recently traded for DeMarco Murray and his hefty contract. There's no question Murray will open training camp atop the depth chart, but Henry has enough talent to push for a significant role early on. Murray is reportedly pleased with the pick, as the bruising rookie's presence could help to keep his veteran teammate healthy throughout the season. Tennessee did a nice job remaking what was arguably the NFL's worst backfield in 2015. The team also helped its running game by selecting OT Jack Conklin in the first round.
