Eli Apple's mom almost mistook draft call for telemarketer

The New York Giants selecting Eli Apple almost seems too good.
A guy named Eli going to play in the Big Apple? Come on.
But that may not even be the best part of his selection. Apple almost didn't even answer the call because his mother didn't recognize the New York area code.
Best part of @EliApple13 going to the @giants, he almost didn't answer the (201) area code bc his mom @SurvivinAmerica said to not pick up

Apple's mom, Annie, has had a fun time in the draft process. She defended her son's cooking skills after an odd attack from an anonymous scout. She met "discount Odell" Beckham after the draft and ran into new Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Carson Wentz on her flight.
