Cowboy's Devin Street goes on 'shower strike' for charity

Some athletes host charity softball games, auction off equipment, or make surprise hospital visits, but Dallas Cowboys receiver Devin Street has something different in mind for his charitable efforts.

Street is embarking on a week-long bathing boycott to help raise money for "Well Aware," a Texas-based organization that helps build water systems for impoverished Kenyan communities.

"I’m participating in Well Aware’s Shower Strike because I know our efforts are life changing for the thousands of people who will have clean water," Street said in a statement. "For the people we are helping, a clean drink of water is a luxury. A shower is unheard of. It’s the least we can do stop bathing for a week so that others can live."

The campaigns goal is to raise $150,000 to provide clean water to over 15,000 people. The 25-year-old receiver's mission began on Friday, April 22nd and ends April 30th. Street joins former Texas Longhorns quarterback Case McCoy and NBA player Xavier Silas.
