Alabama defensive back Tony Brown is staring at an indefinite suspension handed down from the NCAA, according to Aaron Suttles of the Tuscaloosa News.

According to the report, head coach Nick Saban acknowledged the suspension, adding that the university is appealing it.

As of now, the details are sketchy.

"When I get the final data on that I'll definitely let you know," Saban said.

Brown has been with the team all spring, appearing in all eight practices. For his career, he's played in 26 games, racking up 26 tackles in two seasons.

Prior to the Cotton Bowl, he was sent home for an unspecified violation of team rules. He didn't make the trip to the Crimson Tide's national championship game.
