James notches 2nd triple-double as Cavs clinch Central

Ken Blaze-USA TODAY Sports

After getting blown out by the Miami Heat on the road Saturday night, LeBron James and the Cleveland Cavaliers looked to take out their frustrations on a vulnerable Denver Nuggets squad, who entered Monday's contest having lost three of their last four games.

From the opening tip to the final buzzer, the Cavaliers controlled the tempo, were stout on the defensive end, and lights out on offense in a 124-91 blowout at Quicken Loans Arena.

James finished the night with his second triple-double of the season, scoring 33 points on 12-of-19 shooting, grabbing 11 rebounds, and dishing out 11 assists in 33 minutes of action. His first came Feb. 8 against the Sacramento Kings when he had a line of 21-10-10.

With the win, the Cavaliers clinch a Central Division title for the second season in a row.

Cleveland's lead atop the Eastern Conference now grows to 1 1/2 games over the Toronto Raptors with a 50-20 record. Tyronn Lue's roster will take the floor again Wednesday when the Milwaukee Bucks come to town.
