Michel Therrien's job appears to be safe, for now.
Montreal Canadiens general manager Marc Bergevin is expected to give Therrien a vote of confidence either this weekend or early next week, TSN's Darren Dreger reported on Thursday's "Insider Trading" segment.
According to Dreger, Bergevin would like to give Therrien another chance with the team next season, with a healthy lineup at his disposal.
The Canadiens will miss the playoffs this season for the first time in four years, one season removed from capturing the Atlantic Division title.
The team has been decimated by injuries with Carey Price, P.K. Subban, and Brendan Gallagher - among others - missing significant time.
