The creative Brazilian turned on his turbo engines to blow past Manchester United full-back Guillermo Varela on Thursday, and then fooled goalkeeper David De Gea with an exquisite chip to bring Liverpool level in the match.

But the goal actually put the Reds up 3-1 on aggregate in the last-16 Europa League tie, enough to leave United in the dust and clinch a spot in the quarter-finals.
