Report: Chiefs agree to 5-year deal with Mitchell Schwartz

The Kansas City Chiefs have reached an agreement in principle to sign free-agent right tackle Mitchell Schwartz, reports Rand Getlin of NFL Network.

Terms have not yet been disclosed, but the two sides are finalizing a five-year deal, according to Adam Schefter and Pat McManamon of ESPN.

Schwartz entered the offseason as arguably the top right tackle hitting the open market, and the Chiefs fill a substantial need by striking a deal shortly after the new league year began.

The 26-year-old, who started all 64 games across his four seasons in Cleveland, will be expected to solidify the right tackle spot opposite 2013 No. 1 overall pick Eric Fisher.

Schwartz's presence will be key for a Chiefs offensive line in rebounding from a 2015 campaign in which the group surrendered 46 sacks.
