Report: RG3 on Broncos' list of possible replacements for Osweiler

With Brock Osweiler reportedly headed to the Houston Texans as free agency gets under way, the Denver Broncos find themselves scrambling to find a new starter under center.

Among those included on the team's list of potential replacements is now-former Washington Redskins quarterback Robert Griffin III, who could be in line for a visit, reports Adam Schefter of ESPN.

Following up a previous report indicating that the Broncos could also target San Francisco 49ers quarterback Colin Kaepernick if Osweiler were to sign elsewhere, the Broncos certainly don't appear to have any shortage of noteworthy options.

Griffin's time with the Redskins came to an end after he slid to the bottom of the quarterback depth chart in 2015, but teams will almost certainly still be intrigued by the ability he demonstrated early in his career.

Given the offense Gary Kubiak runs in Denver, a scheme that can benefit from the presence of an athletic quarterback, Griffin could prove to be a strong fit at a relatively affordable cost.

The former No. 2 overall pick took home Offensive Rookie of the Year honors after finishing his 2012 season having thrown for 3,200 yards, 20 touchdowns, and just five interceptions, also adding 815 yards and seven scores on the ground.
