After spending much of his baseball career working for George Steinbrenner, it seems Paul O'Neill now has a soft spot for another wealthy mogul.
On Tuesday, the former New York Yankees star was in attendance for Donald Trump's press conference in Jupiter, Fla., and appeared to give the Republican presidential candidate his endorsement after receiving an enthusiastic shoutout.
"Paul O'Neill of the Yankees - stand up, Paul," Trump said. "In fact, Paul, you originally come from Ohio, right? Oh, wow. Paul O'Neill of the Yankees."
Trump, who won the primary elections in both Mississippi and Michigan on Tuesday, may need O'Neill's support to win the primary in Ohio, the home state of fellow Republican candidate John Kasich.
