Former UCLA linebacker Myles Jack is not yet fully recovered from a torn lateral meniscus that caused him to miss his final year in college, but he told reporters Friday at the NFL Scouting Combine that he believes he'll be cleared before his pro day on March 15.

Jack said his knee feels "100 percent" already, but that he will meet with doctors on March 11 to gain final clearance.

Teams were apparently thorough in their medical checks on Jack, with the linebacker saying he spent seven hours going through physicals at the combine.

Jack also defended his decision to leave UCLA after falling behind in school following the injury,

"It's a tough decision," Jack said, according to Josh Weinfuss of ESPN. "I just decided to put that on ice. Definitely going to finish my degree and everything, but decided to go.

"Having surgery, you're down for like a week and a half, you can’t move around. I couldn't come back. I couldn't play this season. I couldn't contribute. I just had to weigh all that and just decide, 'You know what? Shoot for my dream. This is what I've always wanted to do. This is my dream.' I just had to go for it."

Jack is one of the most versatile prospects in the draft, and in today's modern NFL where positions have become more fluid, the 20-year-old said that teams have asked him about how he'd feel playing multiple spots on defense.

"I describe myself as a football player," Jack said. "I always said if they want to put me at running back, let's do it. That'd be a cool experience."

Jack appears to still believe he is worthy of a top draft pick, and warned teams against overlooking him because of his injury, saying, "It would be a big mistake if teams slept on me."
