Potential No. 1 pick Tunsil skips 40-yard dash
Top offensive line prospect and potential first overall draft pick Laremy Tunsil won't run the 40-yard dash at the scouting combine.
The Ole Miss offensive tackle will participate in other offensive line drills, but will wait until his pro day to turn in a 40 time, NFL Network's Kimberly Jones reports.
It's hardly an unprecedented move. Prospects who expect to be selected early in the first round routinely opt to skip select drills at the combine, viewing them as likely only to hurt their draft stock.
Tunsil's decision to let his pro day time stand alone is a strong indication he believes he is in the running to be selected first overall by the Tennessee Titans.
Forty-yard dash times at pro days are typically faster than at that combine, perhaps due to greater comfort among prospects or more favorable timing procedures.
