Jared Goff: 'I'm going to make a team better the first day I'm there'

Former Cal quarterback Jared Goff is considered by many to be the most pro-ready passer in the 2016 NFL Draft, and could therefore be capable of helping a team straight away.

Goff shares this belief, and told reporters Thursday at the NFL Scouting Combine that he is ready to make an immediate impact for whomever drafts him.

"I'm going to make a team better the first day I'm there," Goff said.

One of the potential landing spots for Goff is the Cleveland Browns, who hold the second overall pick.

Goff said he'd be happy to be picked by the Browns, and had high praise for Browns head coach Hue Jackson.

"I think he's going to make a guys successful; he's a great coach, offensive mind and quarterback guy," Goff said.

Goff also laughed off the concerns about his hand size after they were measured at 9 inches, which is considered small for an NFL quarterback.

"I just heard about that yesterday," Goff said. "I've been told I have pretty big hands all my life.

"I've never had a problem with that."

One of the concerns about his lack of ideal hand size is that he could be susceptible to fumbles in the NFL. Goff was asked about the 23 fumbles he had in college, but responded by asking how many he had this year.

When a reporter said he'd fumbled four times, Goff said simply, "that's pretty good."

Goff will participate in the combine's passing drills on Saturday.
