'It's been tough': Melo reflects on rocky Knicks tenure as losses mount
After resembling a playoff team in mid-January, the New York Knicks have seen their season deteriorate over the last month, losing 12 of their last 14 contests.
Leading scorer Carmelo Anthony knows the feeling all to well, after seeing his Knicks fail to make the postseason in back-to-back years.
And while New York's lineup appears markedly different, again, the results haven't changed for Anthony and the Knicks.
"It's been tough. It's challenging," Anthony told ESPN's Ohm Youngmisek about the large amount of roster turnover during his Knicks tenure. "It's challenging to kind of stay strong and positive through all this."
New York made noise earlier this month, firing head coach Derek Fisher and naming Kurt Rambis as his interim replacement. Rambis marks the fourth coach Anthony has played under in New York after being traded from the Denver Nuggets just over five years ago.
"When you look at it, how many different coaches? Four different coaches. (A lot of) different players. I mean, that's a lot to go through," Anthony said.
After Monday night's defeat, the Knicks (24-34) sit 13th in the Eastern Conference and six-and-a-half games out of a playoff spot.
"Regardless of the record, just losing, accepting that - it is hard to accept that," Anthony continued. "You can't be satisfied with losing basketball games."
