Norwich City signs Patrick Bamford on loan from Chelsea

Norwich City has bolstered its attack in hopes of staving off relegation, signing out-of-favour Chelsea striker Patrick Bamford on loan until the end of the season.
Bamford joins recent signing Steven Naismith, Cameron Jerome, and Dieumerci Mbokani to form a formidable core of attackers for Alex Neil's lot.
The 22-year-old makes the switch to Carrow Road after a dismal loan spell at Crystal Palace, where he made six substitute appearances for Alan Pardew's Eagles this year.
"I'm really happy to be here, and the sooner I'm able to get involved the better," Bamford told Norwich's website.
"That's what I want to do personally, but it's also about helping Norwich to get the points required to stay in the league."
The 2014-15 Championship Player of the Year will be a welcome addition to a Canaries side that is desperate for offence, with only 28 goals in 23 league matches.
Bamford scored 17 times while on loan with Middlesbrough in 2014-15, and hopes in East Anglia are that he can replicate his form during the last 15 matches of this season.
One of several dozen Chelsea talents on loan during the 2015-16 season, the Nottingham Forest academy product's move to Norfolk marks his fifth temporary move since joining the Blues in 2012, with spells at MK Dons, Derby County, 'Boro, and Palace preceding his move to Carrow Road.
"Patrick is a player who excelled last season and we are pleased to have the opportunity to bring him in," Canaries boss Neil said Saturday.
"He's a young forward determined to make his way in the game, and adds competition for us at the top end of the pitch."
