The New York Islanders got some extra incentive to play hard while visiting the Ottawa Senators on Friday, as injured defenseman Johnny Boychuk, knowing a blizzard was on its way to New York, promised to lend a helping hand if they picked up the win.
Win tonight @NYIslanders and I personally will make sure your vehicles aren't covered in snow when you get back tonight... 🤔🙄

With snow-covered cars on the line, the team responded in a big way, beating the Senators 5-2 with five different Islanders finding the back of the net, and prompting a quick response from the team's Twitter account.
You're up @joboych! ❄️🚗🚙🚐❄️ https://t.co/KqejutYPjy

Luckily for Boychuk, the storm didn't make its way to New York as soon as expected, and the 34-year-old, who has now missed eight games with an upper-body injury, was understandably relieved.
Well it is a good thing it isn't supposed to start snowing until tomorrow. Hahahahaha. Good win @NYIslanders #cleancars #YesYesYes

The Islanders will look to beat the blizzard to Brooklyn, as they're scheduled to host the Philadelphia Flyers on Saturday.
