P90X creator would 'love opportunity' to train Packers' Lacy
The Green Bay Packers want running back Eddie Lacy to lose weight for the 2016 season, and personal trainer Tony Horton wants to help.
Horton, creator of the popular home exercise regimen P90X, told TMZ Sports that "time is ticking" for Lacy to get back into top form.
"I'd love that opportunity," Horton said. "Here's this guy - he's this gifted athlete - he's kind of blowing a little bit. The first two seasons he was killing it, and you would think because the opportunity is so special, and so many guys' careers are so short, and he's so talented, that he thought he could just kind of not do what he needed to do.
"... He's dragging that extra weight around, which is basically dragging his team down."
Lacy topped 1,100 yards in each of his first two seasons, but rushed for just 758 yards and three touchdowns in 2015, and was temporarily benched in favor of James Starks.
Head coach Mike McCarthy said Monday that Lacy cannot continue to play at the weight he played at this season.
