Vincent Lecavalier scored a power-play goal for the third consecutive game as the Los Angeles Kings won a key Western Conference matchup against the Dallas Stars 3-2.

"You can tell he's having fun again," said teammate Milan Lucic, according to Greg Beacham of the Associated Press. "The coaches have put him in position to succeed, and that's something he's earned."

The 35-year-old is becoming an increasingly fascinating story in Los Angeles as he is now thriving with top-six minutes and power-play time after spending much of his stint with the Philadelphia Flyers as a healthy scratch.

The Kings acquired the former first-overall pick along with defenseman Luke Schenn in a deal that was largely seen as move for future cap relief with Lecavalier agreeing to retire at season's end, after one more shot at the Stanley Cup.

While the added veteran presence was always seen as a benefit of the deal, his production is coming as a pleasant surprise. This final swan song, as long as he's a man of his word, is definitely becoming an intriguing one.
