Report: Bruins, Eriksson in preliminary extension talks
Greg M. Cooper / USA TODAY Sports
The Boston Bruins and forward Loui Eriksson are in the preliminary stages of negotiating a contract extension, according to TSN's Darren Dreger.
The 30-year-old is in the final year of a six-year, $25.5-million contract, and sits second on the Bruins with 15 goals and 37 points in 44 games.
Dreger suggests that Eriksson's asking price is likely to be north of $6 million annually for five to six years.
He also believes that if the Bruins can't find common ground with Eriksson, the winger could become available in a trade.
