Bad news for the Detroit Red Wings.
The team will be without defenseman and alternate captain Niklas Kronwall for two-to-four weeks, head coach Jeff Blashill announced, after No. 55 underwent knee surgery. It was a scope, so the club's hopeful for a sooner-than-later return.
There's no replacing the big Swedish blueliner. He plays 22:45 per game, and has three goals and 14 assists in 45 games.
The club also announced that forward Drew Miller will be out four-to-six months after undergoing major reconstructive knee surgery. Miller had a goal and an assist in 28 games, while averaging slightly under 13 minutes in ice time.
