USA Basketball announces 30 finalists for 2016 men's Olympic team

USA Basketball released its list of 30 finalists for the 2016 U.S. men's Olympic team on Monday, with the Cleveland Cavaliers' LeBron James and the Oklahoma City Thunder's Kevin Durant among the star players headlining the group.

Notable omissions include Kobe Bryant of the Los Angeles Lakers, Dwyane Wade and Chris Bosh of the Miami Heat, Damian Lillard of the Portland Trail Blazers, and Derrick Rose of the Chicago Bulls.

Bryant stated Saturday he would not pursue a spot on the Olympic team this summer, opting to play his final game in a Lakers uniform instead.

Mike Krzyzewski (Duke University) will resume his spot as the head coach for the U.S., while Jim Boeheim (Syracuse University), Tom Thibodeau, and Monty Williams (Oklahoma City Thunder) will serve as assistants.
