Grabovski not expected to face further discipline after boarding Henrik Sedin

New York Islanders forward Mikhail Grabovski is not expected to face additional discipline after boarding Vancouver Canucks captain Henrik Sedin on Sunday, ESPN's Pierre LeBrun reports.

Grabovski received a boarding major and was tossed from the game, and while the play was reviewed, the "sense is (a) major and game misconduct sufficed," LeBrun writes.

The Canucks won the game 2-1 in a shootout, but weren't too pleased about the play, which sent Sedin to the locker room. He didn't return, and after the game goaltender Ryan Miller said Vancouver responded to the hit.

"We were definitely tuned in after that - it was a good response because it was a pretty dirty play," Miller said, according to The Province's Ben Kuzma.

Sedin's status moving forward is unknown, though he could be out at least a week. More will be known later Monday.

"I'm a little stiff, so it could (have) been better," Sedin said Sunday night. "I didn't see (Grabovski) at all. I knew someone was there but I thought I had somehow turned away from him, so I did not expect him to hit me at that point.

"It's one of those things where it doesn't feel too bad on the ice, but when you come into the room and wait a bit, it gets stiff and tough to move around. I don't think I could have continued.

"Hits to the head aren't happening as much as before and I haven't seen this one and I don't know if he could have stopped. I'm sure it's something the league is going to look into."
