Rooney breaks record for most Premier League goals scored with one club
With an emphatic swing of his foot Sunday against Liverpool, Manchester United striker Wayne Rooney surpassed Thierry Henry for the most Premier League goals scored with a single club.

Rooney, whose goal-scoring form has drawn questions from both supporters and the media this season, lashed the winner in the 78th minute at Anfield. It was his first goal at Liverpool in 11 years, ending his personal drought while also giving United a way out of an otherwise drab contest.
The new year has been much kinder to Rooney, who managed just one goal in his final 11 appearances of 2015 for United. He now has five goals in four matches since the calendar turned.
Henry needed 258 matches to set the initial ceiling, while Rooney required 358 to break the record. The England captain equalled Henry's mark with a brace against Newcastle on Jan. 12.
Alan Shearer sits third on the list with 148 goals for Newcastle, followed by Frank Lampard, who scored one fewer tally for Chelsea. Robbie Fowler rounds out the top five, having scored 128 markers for Liverpool.
