John Scott will captain Pacific Division All-Stars after all
John Scott has been named captain of the Pacific Division All-Stars, all over again.
The NHL announced Tuesday it will acknowledge the fan vote and allow Scott to indeed represent the Arizona Coyotes and the Pacific Division despite his trade to the Montreal Canadiens and assignment to the AHL.

As Sportsnet's Chris Johnston points out, it could be his last game in the NHL.
Scott has taken on a bit of cult following since an Internet campaign was launched to see him into the league event. As it gained steam, Scott embraced the movement, further pushing it along. But his involvement was cast in doubt when the Coyotes decided they needed to shed capital with their acquisition of Jarred Tinordi last week.
The NHL remained quiet about the situation until Tuesday, announcing that Scott will attend the Nashville event.
Arizona, meanwhile, isn't expected to have a true representative at the game, which is an unfortunate upshot for a second-place team loaded with young stars.

There is precedent to support Scott's inclusion. Sandis Ozolinsh and Bernie Nicholls represented their former clubs after swapping sweaters in 2003 and 1990, respectively.
