Lacazette open to Premier League move in summer window

Lyon striker Alexandre Lacazette has said he's ready for a move to England, but only if it's to a club that plays attacking football and participates routinely in the Champions League.

"Yes, I am thinking about it and the Premier League is very attractive for a player," Lacazette told The Telegraph's Jason Burt. "But I know that to go there I have to do well this season. So I am very concentrated on doing well and maybe, after that, I will go there."

The 24-year-old has heard rumours linking him away from France for two years - something that he said disrupted his mentality in the early stages.

"For me, it's not so hard because I was not ready two years ago or even last season," he said. "I was not ready then and my goal is not to go to England for the sake of going to England and I don't want to go to a club and sit on the bench."

He will not contemplate a January transfer, maintaining that he has unfinished business at Lyon. Lacazette has seven league goals this campaign, a result of a persistent back issue. Lyon itself has struggled, slumping to sixth in the standings. But he said he will consider a new adventure once the season ends.

Lacazette has spent his entire career in east-central France. He came through Lyon's youth ranks and made his senior debut in May 2010.

In the intervening years, he earned a reputation as one of Europe's best finishers. He is a penalty-box specialist, but he is not afraid to let fly from 18 yards away or farther. His holdup play and conversion rate are also strengths.

Last season was his best: The France international had 27 goals in 33 league starts, converting 28 percent of his shots. He won French player of the year honours, and beat out vaunted Paris Saint-Germain forward Zlatan Ibrahimovic as Ligue 1's top scorer.

Having achieved all he could with Lyon, Lacazette said his club's hierarchy knows about his ambitions of playing abroad. But staying at Lyon beyond this season is also an option.

"I love Lyon and have only known Lyon, so obviously it will be a big change if I do go but a change that I am ready for and one that will be good for me and my career," he said.
