Matt Barnes doubts he'll recoup any money from suspension grievance
The National Basketball Players Association filed a grievance on behalf of Memphis Grizzlies forward Matt Barnes Wednesday in an effort to recoup his pay lost to a two-game suspension.
Barnes doesn't expect to get his money back.
"It means a lot that the NBAPA has filed an appeal on my behalf, but I won't hold my breath," Barnes told ESPN's Ramona Shelburne. "I've never had so much as a (technical foul) rescinded, I highly doubt I'll be reimbursed a dime of that suspension money."
Barnes served a two-game suspension by the league as a result of a physical altercation with New York Knicks head coach Derek Fisher at a Los Angeles-area residence last fall. Fisher was reportedly dating Barnes' estranged wife.

"I appreciate the support I've got from not only my peers throughout the NBA but NFL and from the entertainment world," Barnes said.
The money lost to the two-game suspension totals about $64,000.
The 35-year-old Barnes, currently shooting a career-low 40.2 percent for the Grizzlies, published an Instagram post on New Year's Eve that took the scorched-earth route on his travails.
