Alex Ovechkin had 497 career goals coming into Saturday's tilt against the New York Rangers. None of them were as easy as No. 498.

Ovechkin capitalized on an absolutely awful - or terrific, depending on how you look at it - pass by Rangers defenseman Dan Girardi to give the Washington Capitals an early lead on Saturday.

The 30-year-old now has 23 goals in 40 games this season. He's just two goals shy of 500 for his career.
