If Sidney Crosby continues to play at this pace, the Pittsburgh Penguins could have big things in store for 2016.

Crosby scored a pair of power-play goals, teammates Phil Kessel and Matt Cullen also found the net, and the Penguins chased New York Islanders goalie Thomas Greiss in the second period on their way to a 5-2 win Saturday night.

Patric Hornqvist scored the final goal against Greiss' replacement, Christopher Gibson, while John Tavares and Nick Leddy each put pucks past Marc-Andre Fleury - who made 38 saves in his return from a concussion.

Evgeni Malkin and Kris Letang each recorded three assists on the night, but Crosby was the story as he kicked off the new year in the same form he finished 2015. The 28-year-old now has five goals in his past five games, and 10 points in his last seven outings.

The Penguins will have a chance to make it three wins in a row when they begin a back-to-back against the Chicago Blackhawks on Tuesday.
