76ers' Brett Brown: 'We feel like we're 1-0' after 2nd win of the season

After a 1-30 start to the season, you can't blame Philadelphia 76ers head coach Brett Brown for treating Saturday night's win against the Phoenix Suns like a new chapter in the season.

“So we feel like we are 1-0 in this middle third (of the season) with Ish (Smith) back and playing well," Brown said to Keith Pompey of The Philadelphia Inquirer. "You know we got a beat on the program right now. There's a pulse to the program. You just want to grow it and keep it going.”

The win was Philadelphia's first game with newly acquired point guard Smith. The 27-year-old's impact was felt immediately, as his 14 points and five assists played a large part in the team's win.

"This is a fresh start," Brown added. "I think how we break down the seasons, it gives us a chance to, like, release things in the past and move forward."

Saturday was also assistant coach Mike D'Antoni's first with the team. An offensive guru, the 64-year-old's wisdom rubbed off on the young Sixers as they dropped 111 points.

The Sixers have the opportunity to double their win streak on Monday night when they face an injury-depleted Utah Jazz squad.
