Monday's Small Forward Value Rankings

Jeremy Brevard / USA TODAY Sports

Here are theScore's small forward value rankings for Monday's nine-game slate.

Value Rankings
PG | SG | SF | PF | C

Top Options

Name Opponent Value
Jared Dudley (WAS) vs. SAC 9
Omri Casspi (SAC) at WAS 8
Nicolas Batum (CHA) at HOU 8
Kelly Oubre Jr. (WAS) vs. SAC 8
Rudy Gay (SAC) at WAS 7

Dudley and Casspi have been starting as small ball power forwards; Oubre and Gay are traditional small forwards. With injuries affecting every position except PG and C in Washington, expect Dudley to soak up minutes and hit 3-pointers, rebound and generally fill the stat sheet against the fast-paced Kings. Foul trouble limited Oubre in his first NBA start, but he tallied eight points, five rebounds and a block in 22 minutes, and is barely above the minimum price in most DFS games. A possible return by Otto Porter would reduce Oubre's appeal, so monitor Porter's status closer to game time.

Batum is a swiss-army knife who should contribute in all categories against the fast-paced, defensively-suspect Rockets.

Best of the Rest

Name Opponent Value
Gordon Hayward (UTA) vs. PHX 7
Carmelo Anthony (NY) vs. ORL 7
Trevor Ariza (HOU) vs. CHA 7
Joe Johnson (BKN) at CHI 7
Jae Crowder (BOS) vs. MIN 7
Kent Bazemore (ATL) vs. POR 7
Tobias Harris (ORL) at NY 7
Kawhi Leonard (SA) vs. IND 6
Paul George (IND) at SAC 6
Kevin Durant (OKC) at LAC 6
T.J. Warren (PHX) at UTA 6

Hayward on on a hot streak, averaging 23 points, 5.5 rebounds, 7.5 free throws made and 3.5 3-pointers made in his last two games.

The big names near the bottom of the list are too expensive for their expected production. Leonard and George will likely guard each other, and while Durant has no trouble scoring, at his price he needs to contribute in all categories, and doesn't provide enough secondary support to come close to returning significant value.

Nothing to See Here

Name Opponent Value
Lance Thomas (NY) vs. ORL 5
Bojan Bogdanovic (BKN) at CHI 4
C.J. Miles (IND) at SA 3
Otto Porter (WAS) vs. SAC 2

Miles can explode (three games in his last 10 with at least five 3-pointers made) or implode (zero points Saturday), and faces San Antonio's top-ranked defense.

Even if Porter can return from a thigh injury, he's been slumping, with only four points combined in his last two games prior to sitting out Saturday.
